Complexity in ICT Systems and Projects - 18 April 2006

This all-day workshop will be the first Australian event to discuss the issue of complexity in information and communications technology [ICT] systems and projects. The program will comprise presentations and discussion forums to be led by leading researchers and practitioners who share a belief that something needs to be done to manage complexity and thereby assure:

  • safety of life and property

  • predictability of performance and degraded operations

  • project cost and schedule achievement, and

  • control of the inexorable growth in entropy and chaos

The workshop will be convened by the Systems Engineering Society of Australia [SESA] www.sesa.org.au, a technical society of Engineers Australia [EA], and supported by the Australian Computer Society [ACS], EA and The Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering.

The submission site is still open at www.aswec.org/ict_submission/openconf.php and your proposed presentations and papers are welcome at any time.
